Since 1993, Prowest Coatings has provided cathodic protection Engineering and Technical Services to a wide variety of customers in industries including Oil, Gas, Production, Refining, Pipeline, Storage, Water, and Wastewater.  Our trusted Corrosion Professionals are called upon to find solutions to corrosion related issues ranging from complex technical structures to simple recommendations.  Our services can include cathodic protection design, system troubleshooting and testing, surveys and more.  We share the responsibility with our clients to maintain system functionality and regulatory compliance and we reference current industry and regulatory standards such as DOT, EPA, OSHA, NACE/AMPP API, EPRI, and IMO.

Professional with over 40 years of increasingly responsible experience in the petroleum and water industry, with an emphasis on pipeline and tank corrosion maintenance and inspection. Expertise from inception to completion of design and implementation of tank and pipeline corrosion protection systems, processes and Coating Specification Design and Coating Inspection.  Troubleshooter of corrosion systems and in assessing needs for repair or new designs of cathodic protection and coating systems to protect both Steel and Concrete Structures.  Creative and resourceful in all aspects of projects and tasks undertaken.  Astute adherence to company requirements and project specifications, Federal, State and Local guidelines, and Osha safety regulations.

Our Team

All levels of technical service personnel are experienced, and NACE Certified, Operator Qualified, TWIC, trained for safe work practices and DOT compliance.  Senior engineering oversight is conducted for all field service operations and documentation review

Accomplishments

Ensured integrity of pipeline systems and compliance with government regulations and corporate policy by development, implementation and maintenance of pipeline inspection and hydrostatic testing programs.

Aboveground tank inspection program established to meet industry criteria and adapted in accordance with API 653. Analyzed tank inspection data and recommended immediate repair and proactive maintenance programs.

Liaison with vendors and service companies (i.e. construction, corrosion control, etc.) to ensure adherence to project specification with issues regarding materials and nature of installation. Gathered, analyzed, and assessed Cathodic Protection data to assure compliance with State and Federal regulations DOT 192 and 194.

Inspector in the installation of concrete coated steel and clay pipelines with specific adherence to pipeline installation and pressure testing of the district 32 Los Angeles County Sanitation District at Valencia, CA.

Conducted monthly and BI-monthly field inspections and annual surveys which ensured compliance with company, Federal and State regulations.

Managed project and manpower and ordered materials for new and existing regulated pipeline and tank construction. Coordination ensured compliance with company specifications.

Facilitated monthly safety training to pipeline maintenance employees. Safety training topics included fire prevention, shop safety, hand tool use and pot-holing and trenching, etc. Training resulted in reduction of accidents and increased awareness of company, State and Federal safety requirements.

Coordinated projects for line abandonments. Developed maintenance programs and economic evaluations of rehabilitation versus replacement. Corporate savings of $500 thousand. Affected production downtime by 10%.

Developed and implemented integrity management and corrosion programs for pipelines and equipment.
